Eric Geyer
No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu InstructorEric’s grappling journey began in middle school, where he discovered his
passion for wrestling. He quickly excelled, going on to become the MVP of
his three-time state championship high school wrestling team. Over the
next 25 years, Eric continued his dedication to martial arts, gaining
expertise in several disciplines, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
Eric’s career as a F/A-18 fighter pilot in the Marine Corps further sharpened
his instructional abilities. As a Navy Fighter Weapons and Tactics Instructor
(TOPGUN) and Marine Corps Weapons and Tactics Instructor, he
achieved the highest qualifications possible in military aviation instruction.
At one point, Eric was responsible for overseeing all fighter pilot training in
the Marine Corps, a role that has given him unparalleled experience in
developing structured, effective training programs.
Eric often draws a unique parallel between BJJ and aerial combat, noting
that both require “flawless fundamentals and the ability to anticipate and
react to an opponent’s intentions.” His coaching focuses on maintaining
strong fundamentals while reading the “fight” and making adjustments.
Today, Eric is dedicated to helping his students apply these principles in
their BJJ journey, guiding them to success through thoughtful instruction,
strategy, and the pursuit of technical excellence.
